چکیده

Large O(m −2 c) nonperturbative correction to the inclusive rate of the decay B → X s γ. Abstract It is shown that the inclusive rate of the rare weak radiative decays B → X s γ contains a nonperturbative correction, whose 'short distance' scale is set by m −1 c rather than by m −1 b. This correction is expressed through the chromomagnetic interaction of the b quark inside the B meson and the relative magnitude of the effect is determined by the ratio B| ¯ b σ ·G b|B/m 2 c. The correction is found to be negative and amounts (in the lowest order in α s) to approximately 20% reduction of the rate in comparison with the perturbative result. Possible further implications of the presence of the distance scale m −1 c in the operator product expansion for inclusive decay rates of b hadrons are briefly discussed.

O(m −2 c) nonperturbative corrections to the inclusive rate of the decay B → X s γ. Abstract It is shown that the inclusive rate of the rare weak radiative decays B → X s γ contains a series of nonperturbative corrections, whose 'short distance' scale is set by m −1 c , rather than by m −1 b. The first correction in this series is expressed through the chromomagnetic interaction of the b quark ...

hep - ph / 9705253 April 1997 Corrections of Order Λ 2 QCD / m 2 c to Inclusive Rare B Decays ∗

We calculate nonperturbative O(Λ 2 QCD /m 2 c) corrections to the dilepton invariant mass spectrum and the forward–backward charge asymmetry in B → X s e + e − decay using a heavy quark expansion approach. The method has recently been used to estimate long–distance effects in B → X s γ. We generalize this analysis to the case of nonvanishing photon invariant mass, q 2 = 0, relevant for the rare...

Polarization Effects

The dominant contribution to the inclusive decays of B mesons into the charm-strangeness mesons D s and D * s is expected to be given by the partonic process b → c + (D − s , D * − s). We determine the nonperturbative O(1/m 2 b) and the O(α s) radiative corrections to b → c + (D − s , D * − s) and thereby to the inclusive decays ¯ B → X c + (D − s , D * − s). The new feature of our calculation ...

CALT-68-2111, hep-ph/9704370 NONPERTURBATIVE EFFECTS IN INCLUSIVE ¯ B → Xs γ a

Uncertainties in the theoretical prediction for the inclusive ¯ B → Xs γ decay rate are examined. Certain nonperturbative effects involving a virtual c ¯ c loop, which are calculable using the operator product expansion, are discussed. The inclusive ¯ B → X s γ decay is sensitive to physics beyond the standard model, and the photon spectrum can help us better understand nonperturba-tive effects...

Nonperturbative O ( m − 2 c ) Effects in B → X s γ from Heavy Quark Effective Theory

The nonperturbative contribution, suppressed by powers of the charm quark mass m c , in the inclusive decay B → X s γ is analyzed in the context of heavy quark effective field theory (HQEFT). According to previous analyses, the leading effects of O(1/m 2 c) arise from an external gluon attached to a charm quark loop and can be expressed in terms of the chromomagnetic interaction of the b quark ...
